The Red Bull Music Academy self-identifies as “a global music institution committed to fostering creativity in music” and “a platform for the essential ideas, sounds and people that have driven – and continue to drive – our culture forward.”
This week on their online channel (the aptly named RBMA Daily) they released the first pair of six animated shorts in a series called “The Junction” that they produced with — well, it seems like just about everyone. Enlisting the help of booooooom.com founder Jeff Hamada in the role of Creative Director, these shorts connect viewers with the little-known personal stories of some of the biggest names in the Canadian music industry, like Kaytranada, River Tiber, Peaches, A-Trak, BadBadNotGood, and more.
It also doesn’t hurt to have a rad team of animators working with you: Patrick Doyon, Malcolm Sutherland, Dylan Glynn, Brandon Blommaert, Hamish Lambert and Kyle Mowat.
Check out episodes 1 & 2 of this creative project on their YouTube channel, and stay tuned for more to come.
