Francisco Espinoza de los Monteros has a day job in marketing. We might blame that for his expansive web presence if it weren’t for his eye-popping photography. The Mexico-based artist has amassed a whopping 139,000 Instagram followers, and hopes to make the switch to full-time photography soon. Considering the evocative nature of his high-quality images, we won’t be surprised if that happens sooner than later.
What inspired this particular project?
This particular project is inspired by the reflections in the mirrors and how they can show things in the other side of the photo.
Are you purely a photographer or do you have other creative pursuits?
I work at a marketing startup and do photography in my free time. In the near future, I want to do only photography for a living.
Why did you choose photography over other creative mediums?
With photography you can freeze moments in a faster and easier way than other creative mediums.
What camera did you shoot on?
I use a Canon 5D Mark III
How does your gear help you be a better photographer?
It helps me to capture moments with the best quality, and in the way I like it to be.
If you could shoot any subject who would it be and why?
I would love to shoot a gymnast. The poses and movements they can achieve would portrait great with my style with photography.
If you could travel anywhere for a photography project, where would it be and why?
Iceland. The landscapes are just beautiful and look from another world. The feeling of emptiness and fullness in the scenery of Iceland attracts me to go there to shoot.
